Dive Insight:
When 7-Eleven debuted its 7Collection shop a year ago, the retailer offered 7-Eleven-branded T- and long-sleeve shirts, baseball caps and bucket hats, socks, fanny packs, blankets and more.
With its latest golf-inspired launch, the convenience retailer is expanding the breadth of its wearables. New clothing additions include golf-themed T- and polo shirts; crop and tank tops; ballcaps, bucket hats and snapbacks; and patches, pins and socks that feature the 1940s 7-Eleven logo.
Beyond the clothes, 7-Eleven’s latest merchandise launch also includes golf products, such as branded golf balls and tees. It also includes printed can coolers, also known as koozies.
The new launch’s theme was chosen because many 7-Eleven customers are sports fans, Marissa Jarratt, executive vice president, chief marketing and sustainability officer for the retailer, said in the announcement.
"Now when avid or aspiring golf enthusiasts stop at our stores to fuel up before a day on the course, they can also look fresh on the fairway with streetwear-inspired designs in our signature colors,” Jarratt said.
Since launching the online store, 7-Eleven has released several collections, including holiday and birthday items.
Other c-store retailers that have dabbled with merchandise lines in the past year include Wawa, which added shirts and other items for its Hoagiefest event, and Stewart’s Shops, which debuted its own digital storefront for branded items. Companies like Circle K, Kum & Go and Sheetz also sell merchandise online.
Irving, Texas-based 7-Eleven operates, franchises and/or licenses more than 13,000 stores in the U.S. and Canada. The retailer also operates and c-store and QSR franchises like Speedway, Stripes, Laredo Taco Company and Raise the Roost Chicken and Biscuits.
