- This comes about two months after EG America revealed plans to open the retail-focused fried chicken QSR at five of its Cumberland Farms c-stores in the Florida panhandle. Four of those sites have since opened and have so far delivered “encouraging early results,” EG Group CEO Russell Colaco said in the earnings update.
- EG America’s Krispy Krunchy Chicken rollout sharpens the retailer’s focus on foodservice, which has included several other programs launched this year.
Dive Insight:
EG America has had a busy year in foodservice. In the first nine months of 2025, it introduced burger, pizza and chicken wing QSRs at select sites, launched a grab-and-go snacking program, added new roller grill options and wraps and debuted online ordering and delivery.
When the East Coast retailer tapped one of the most popular QSR vendors in the c-store industry two months ago, it was clear the company wasn’t just looking to improve the depth of its food offerings, but to position itself to better compete with restaurant chains. It only took the company about eight weeks to realize it wanted to bring the chicken chain to 145 more sites in the coming year, signaling that the partnership has been successful thus far.
Once all the announced sites receive a Krispy Krunchy Chicken, EG America will offer the fried chicken QSR at about 10% of its entire c-store network. If all of those sites end up being Cumberland Farms, that’ll equate to about a quarter of the chain’s stores.
A spokesperson from EG Group did not respond by press time when asked what markets it plans to target with Krispy Krunchy Chicken QSRs. The first five in Florida were set for Santa Rosa Beach, Destin, Gulf Breeze, Navarre and Panama City. EG America has locations in 30 states across the country under banners such as Cumberland Farms, Turkey Hill, Certified, TomThumb and QuikStop.
