EG America, which operates about 1,500 convenience stores across roughly 30 states, has hired Beth Turenne as vice president of brand management, a company spokesperson confirmed to C-Store Dive.
Turenne will oversee EG America’s brand strategy, positioning and marketing execution, the spokesperson said. Her first day with the East Coast c-store retailer was Sept 30.
Turenne also announced her new role in a LinkedIn post on Wednesday.
“Grateful and excited to join a rock star team dedicated to fueling America one gallon, one cup at a time,” Turenne wrote.
Turenne joins EG America after spending the past six years at coffee and doughnut giant Dunkin’, according to her LinkedIn bio. She was most recently Dunkin’s VP of brand marketing and category management. In that role, she helped create the chain’s menu strategy, curated food and beverage LTOs, developed advertising briefs for media partners and public relations agencies, and led strategic partnerships with franchisees, according to her LinkedIn bio. She also spent more than four years as the QSR’s director of food brands and integrated marketing.
Prior to Dunkin’, Turenne spent two decades with cranberry product manufacturer Ocean Spray Cranberries, where she was most recently director of its North America marketing portfolio strategy, according to her LinkedIn bio.
Turenne’s hiring markets another example of EG America tapping a leader from a food-focused company to join its executive team. Last year, the retailer hired Wawa Director of Fresh Food and Beverage Mendy Meriwether as its VP of food, dispensed beverage and QSR.
Turenne’s and Meriwether’s hirings both come as EG America continues to center its operations around foodservice. The company has launched online ordering and delivery as well as several new food and QSR concepts over the past year.
