Englefield, parent company of the 116-site Duchess Convenience Stores, announced this week that it has appointed F.W. “Will” Englefield V president of Englefield Energy and Ashley Englefield DeWitt president of Englefield Retail.
The new executives are the third generation of Englefields to hold a leadership position for the family-owned convenience store and fuel business. Their fathers, F.W. (Bill) Englefield IV and Ben Englefield, remain at the head of the broader company.
“We are very excited for Will and Ashley to take these leadership roles in our family business,” said Bill and Ben Englefield, presidents of Englefield, Inc. “Englefield was founded by our father more than 60 years ago and we are proud to begin transitioning leadership to the third generation.”
DeWitt, in her role as president of retail, will helm the Dutchess convenience store chain, which has locations in Ohio and West Virginia. Other entities under her purview are Royal Craft Kitchen — the c-stores’ commissary — some Taco Bell franchises and Tic Tac Taco Mexican Kitchen.
DeWitt has worked for Englefield for more than 17 years, according to her LinkedIn bio. She started out as a division manager before being promoted to director of marketing in 2011. She took on her most recent role, vice president of merchandising and marketing, in 2020.
“It’s a privilege to carry the torch to lead Duchess,” said DeWitt. “I started my career working in our convenience stores and I am so honored to now lead this division of the company.”
Will Englefield, meanwhile, will be responsible for the company’s fuel, propane and lubricants divisions. This encompasses five warehouses and about 100 trucks.
