Dive Brief:
- Minuteman Food Mart unveiled a refreshed mobile app and new brand icon, “marking the start of a refreshed era” for the company and its customers, according to a Wednesday press release.
- The app update includes an improved design and streamlined navigation along with new ways to access deals, redeem rewards and stay updated on limited-time promotions.
- Minuteman is the latest convenience retailer to update its app, joining companies like TXB, which eliminated its tiered setup and added more fuel discounts, and Onvo, which added features like age-gated offers and exclusive digital offers.
Dive Insight:
Minuteman’s updated app will feature many promotions and deals, including some limited-time offers, which are only accessible for rewards members, according to a Minuteman spokesperson. The retailer recently expanded to 14 members-only clubs — including a beverage club and share-size candy club — where buying five or 10 of an item earns a free one.
Additionally, customers can earn coins on in-store purchases that can be redeemed for freebies or put toward club rewards.
Alongside the app, Minuteman also revealed a new icon that will appear in the app as well as in stores and advertising materials, the spokesperson said. The icon is meant to reflect Minuteman’s values — motion, reliability and clarity — and is part of a broader visual refresh for the banner.
“From the new icon to the improved app experience, we’re focused on enhancing how we serve our guests and move the brand forward,” said Ed Bitondo, vice president of convenience store operations for Minuteman.
Minuteman’s over 60 convenience stores in North and South Carolina offer amenities like Minuteman Kitchen foodservice and Chill Zone fountain drinks.
