Dive Insight:
RaceTrac aims to improve the customer experience and convenience of its stores by boosting the number of safe payment options available as well as increasing its pumps’ uptime.
In this case, QuikQ gives users Secure Swip Swipe capabilities, which use SMS for real-time authentication for fuel purchases, along with other fraud prevention features. The card also has 24-7 customer support and tax compliance support, according to the company’s website.
“With recent investments in both technology and our partnerships, we are making the fueling experience as frictionless as possible for our guests,” said Chris Scorti, senior manager of fleet fuel for Atlanta-based RaceTrac, in the announcement.
Drivers can find truck-accessible sites either through the QuikQ app or RaceTrac’s app, according to the announcement.
Tyler Grubbs, executive director of digital and store technology at RaceTrac, said during the National Retail Federation show in New York City earlier this year that remote monitoring technology has helped reduce the number of out-of-service pumps at RaceTrac locations from over 6% at any given time to under 1%.
