Dive Brief:
- Tri Star Energy, parent company of Twice Daily convenience stores, has unveiled Daily Favorites, a line of private-label snacks, the company announced on Wednesday.
- The Nashville-based company’s selection of chips, jerky, snack cups, popcorn and candy bars will be available in all Twice Daily, White Bison Coffee, Sudden Service and Little General stores in Tennessee, Kentucky and Alabama.
- Developing this private label line gives Tri Star greater control over the ingredients, packaging and costs of these items than they have over national brands.
Dive Insight:
Roughly half of customers trust private-label goods from convenience stores, according to data from Numerator released last year. But with increasing financial pressure on shoppers, having a proprietary brand gives Tri Star another way to offer value across all banners.

The company targeted a lot of bold tastes in developing Daily Favorites.
“We picked flavors people talk about in our towns, from crispy dill pickle to Nashville hot, and we put them in a lineup that works for any stop,” said Dawn Boulanger, vice president of marketing at Tri Star Energy.
The lineup includes jalapeño cheddar, black pepper bacon, crispy dill pickle and spicy hot potato chips; steakhouse, roasted garlic and Nashville hot beef jerky; and milk churro crisp, sea salt caramel and raspberry crunch candy bars.
The company plans to refine these offerings over time based on sales and customer feedback, according to the announcement.
The new private label line will boost several of Tri Star’s banners’ focus on food. Its three convenience store banners already offer a variety of grab-and-go and made-to-order foods and White Bison coffee, which is often found inside Twice Daily stores, offers sandwiches and pastries.
Tri Star joins some top c-store chains in developing its private label business. 7-Eleven has been building its own-brand items for years and plans to add 175 new items in fiscal 2025. Casey’s General Stores created a new position in its store brands division last year amid an overhaul of its own extensive private-label line.
