Pilot has promoted Jamie Landis to executive vice president and chief administrative officer, a spokesperson for the travel center chain confirmed to C-Store Dive.
Landis, who was named senior vice president of business planning and execution in 2024, will continue leading that function while assuming leadership of Pilot’s safety, enterprise risk, procurement and communications functions. She will also spearhead the company’s people team.
Landis succeeds Julius Cox, who announced his resignation via social media last week. Cox said in a LinkedIn post that he will remain at Pilot through the end of the year as an executive advisor to the CEO. Pilot’s website reflects both leadership changes.
Landis’ updated company bio says she is responsible for developing, refining and helping execute Pilot’s long-term strategy, and for advancing the company’s business ambition and supporting more than 30,000 team members across North America.
“In this role, I’ll continue leading business planning and execution, return to my roots in people and culture and expand my responsibilities across safety, enterprise risk, procurement and communications,” Landis said in an announcement last week. “Bringing these teams together gives us an opportunity to more deliberately connect how we run our company, how we work together and how we do work in service of our purpose-driven strategy.”
Landis joined Pilot in June 2021 as senior director of human resources strategy and operations. Less than a year later, she was promoted to vice president of team member experience, leading Pilot’s programs for attracting, hiring and retaining talent, as well as delivering on its overall human resources strategy.
Pilot has also promoted company veteran Sam Edgmon to senior vice president of retail business development, according to the spokesperson.
In this role, Edgmon will lead the teams responsible for retail business development, construction, dealer strategy, network portfolio, real estate and property management, and facility revenue, according to his bio on Pilot’s website.
“From strategic investments and site development to enhancing our retail offerings and guest experience, I'm excited to work alongside exceptional teams to create lasting value across our portfolio and create exceptional experiences for our guests,” Edgmon wrote in a LinkedIn post about the new position last week.
