Shell announced last week that Robin Mooldijk, president of projects and technology, will step down from the energy giant next month.
Mooldijk’s departure is part of Shell’s plan to integrate the divisions that make up its projects and technology organization, according to the announcement. This move aims to “empower our businesses by bringing these technical capabilities closer to where we generate value and progress our journey to improve cost competitiveness of the organisation,” Shell said.
Mooldijk’s last day will be Feb. 28.
According to his company bio, Mooldijk joined Shell in 1991 at its research laboratory in Amsterdam. His past titles have included executive vice president of Shell chemicals and products, EVP for manufacturing, general manager of Shell Chemicals Europe, managing director of South African Petroleum and VP of manufacturing Americas.
During his run with the company, Mooldijk led the transformation of Shell’s refining strategy, helping combine its refining and chemicals businesses into one organization, and helped strengthen the integration of its Shell Trading division, according to the announcement.
Most recently, he led the integration of Shell’s technical divisions into its integrated gas, upstream and downstream and renewables businesses.
“I am grateful to Robin for his significant contribution to Shell throughout his career… I wish him well in his future endeavors,” Sawan said in the announcement.
Shell emphasized in its announcement that Mooldijk’s departure will not impact the company’s financial reporting segments, which include integrated gas, upstream, marketing, chemicals and products, renewables and energy solutions, and corporate.
