McLane Company has promoted company veteran Cassandra Matos to vice president of merchandising profitability, where she focuses on scaling the distributor’s supplier growth and profitability, a company spokesperson confirmed to C-Store Dive.
Matos, who began the new role Sept. 27, will leverage data and insights to inform company strategy, the spokesperson added.
“Her leadership will help ensure McLane continues delivering strong outcomes for customers, suppliers, and the business,” McLane’s spokesperson said.
Matos has been with McLane for nearly three decades, mainly in the company’s merchandising and category teams.
Matos has had a role in launching some of McLane’s products, including its Edge digital platform, which offers marketing and merchandising insights, as well as McLane’s latest sales-building programs.

She steps into her current role after most recently serving as McLane’s senior director of merchandising.
“I am beyond excited to work across the McLane enterprise and with our supplier community enabling us to enhance customer value and operate more efficiently,” Matos said in a LinkedIn post announcing her new position.
Matos’ promotion continues a busy past few months for McLane, which continues to scale its business and grow its internal team. The company launched its latest digital tool for retailers, McLane360, in September, and appointed a new vice president of retail foodservice in July.
