Dive Insight:
RaceTrac’s Florida remodel program comes less than three months after the company announced plans to invest nearly $20 million to remodel 30 convenience stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. That project was the retailer’s largest concentrated investment in the DFW market to date, the company said at the time.
The Florida remodels span markets from Jacksonville to Fort Myers and Miami. Stores in the greater Orlando area will account for the largest share, with 23 stores receiving updates, followed by 14 each in Tampa Bay, Southwest Florida and Southeast Florida. The program also includes seven stores in the Sarasota-Bradenton market, six each in Polk County and the Daytona Beach area, five in Jacksonville, four along the Treasure Coast, three on the Space Coast and two in Ocala.
Most stores will remain open during construction, though some extensive remodels will require closures. The first renovations have already been completed, with the program continuing through 2027, according to the announcement.
“Florida is home to nearly one in three RaceTrac stores, highlighting how important it is to continue to invest in our guests and communities we serve here,” said Melanie Isbill, president of convenience retail at RaceTrac, in Monday’s announcement.
The new pizza bars will feature handcrafted pies made in-store daily, along with rotating limited-time flavors. Redesigned coffee areas will serve six blends of RaceTrac’s Crazy Good Coffee, while the refreshed Swirl World frozen yogurt bars will offer expanded unlimited toppings at select locations.
“Our Florida guests have told us what they want from a quick stop: crave-worthy fresh food, great coffee and a store that’s easy to shop,” Isbill said. “These remodels bring all of that to locations from Jacksonville to Miami, and we can't wait for everyone to experience them.”
