C-store M&A activity has been quieter in 2026 than in past years. The industry hasn’t yet seen any mega-deals like BP’s purchase of TravelCenters of America in 2023, FEMSA buying Delek’s c-stores to move into the U.S. in 2024 or Sunoco’s acquisition of Parkland’s hundreds of retail locations last year.
But 2026 has still brought some significant deals, including Sunoco buying more than 100 stores across multiple purchases, Cumberland Farms acquiring Pittsburgh-area regional retailer Coen Markets and Pops Mart and Monfort Companies exiting the industry.
