Dive Brief:
- Refuel Operating Company has named Monique Ravenel as vice president of foodservice, the convenience retailer announced via LinkedIn on Monday.
- Ravenel has worked as Refuel’s director of proprietary foods and QSR operations for the past two years, according to her LinkedIn bio. She now spearheads Refuel’s entire foodservice operation, which includes its hot food bar as well as the grab-and-go program that debuted earlier this year.
- Refuel has given its leadership team a facelift in 2025, including naming co-CEOs, as the company continues to expand its network of nearly 250 c-stores across the South.
Dive Insight:
Prior to joining Refuel, Ravenel spent nearly eight years as a regional restaurant leader for 7-Eleven in its home base of Irving, Texas, according to her LinkedIn bio. Among her top priorities in that role was opening and expanding 7-Eleven’s Raise the Roost fried chicken QSR, as well as testing products, creating recipes and working with vendors on restaurant item selection.
Before 7-Eleven, Ravenel spent nearly a decade as a market manager for Circle K in South Carolina.
Ravenel will now shift her attention from Refuel’s QSRs and private brands to the retailer’s entire food program.
“Monique has done an outstanding job leading our QSR operations, and we can’t wait to see her take our entire foodservice division to the next level in this expanded role,” Refuel said in its announcement.
In a separate post announcing her promotion, Ravenel thanked Refuel co-CEOs Jon Rier and Travis Smith for the opportunity and for their trust in her leadership.
“This milestone is a testament to the hard work and support of the incredible teams I've had the pleasure of working with,” Ravenel said.
Besides appointing co-presidents Travis Smith and Jon Rier as co-CEOs to replace Refuel founder Mark Jordan in June, Refuel also named Justin Mitchell chief technology officer and Derek Leskovic chief financial officer earlier this year. In addition, the company hired Nouria veteran Michael Farnick as director of food-service strategy and innovation in September.
