Dive Brief:
- East Coast convenience retailer SNK Petroleum Wholesalers recently opened its first locations in Ohio and Indiana, Chief Operations Officer Messim Kirmani confirmed to C-Store Dive.
- The Ohio site, which Kirmani said opened earlier this month, is located in Alvada, a community about 50 miles south of Toledo. SNK’s first Indiana c-store opened in May in Elkhart, roughly 20 miles east of South Bend.
- These openings bring SNK’s c-store footprint to 10 states as the Connecticut-based company continues expanding in the Midwest, Kirmani said in a LinkedIn post detailing the new stores.
Dive Insight:
SNK’s latest additions bring the company’s c-store network to about 200 locations, including about 60 sites operating under its SNK banner. The remaining locations operate under national fuel brands. All of SNK’s stores are company-owned and operate through commission agents, Kirmani said.
Ohio and Indiana mark the latest phase of SNK's Midwest expansion, following earlier arrivals in Michigan and Illinois, Kirmani said in the LinkedIn post. Outside the region, SNK has c-stores in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Vermont, according to the company’s website and information from Kirmani.
In a message, Kirmani said more northern Ohio sites are coming soon to Toledo, Brunswick and Cleveland.
“So far this year, we’ve added more than 20 locations to our portfolio, continuing the steady growth of our company across multiple markets,” Kirmani said in his LinkedIn announcement. “We’re grateful to our employees, dealers, partners, and customers for making this growth possible, and we’re excited for what lies ahead.”
In Elkhart, SNK will compete primarily with 7-Eleven, which operates several nearby stores. In Alvada, the new location faces a Marathon-branded S&G store directly across the street.
SNK joins a growing list of regional convenience retailers entering new states in 2026, including Yesway, Wawa, Sheetz, QuikTrip and Dash In.
