- Tennessee retailer Weigel’s has opened its 75th convenience store and its largest to date, according to a company announcement from last week.
- The retailer’s new 6,400-square-foot store is located in Piney Flats, Tennessee, in the far northeastern part of the state. It officially opened on Aug. 17.
- Weigel’s newest and biggest store has the same features as the rest of its locations, but it is designed to also offer “an extensive range of products, amenities and services,” the company said.
Food is at the forefront of Weigel’s biggest location to date. The store features the retailer’s Weigel’s Kitchen foodservice program, which includes items across all dayparts. This includes fried chicken, pizza, salads, sub sandwiches, breakfast burritos and meat-filled biscuits.
Additionally, the store offers bean-to-cup coffee and espresso machines, as well as nitro coffee served on tap and organic drip coffee.
“We are delighted to bring our largest store to Piney Flats and offer an enhanced shopping experience to our valued customers,” Doug Yawberry, president of Weigel’s, said in the announcement. “Opening our newest store here represents our ongoing commitment to providing top-notch products and services.”
The store is open 24 hours a day and is considered a travel center, according to Weigel’s website. It offers both conventional non-ethanol gasoline, regular and premium ethanol, and truck diesel fuel.
According to the announcement, the store also includes “the latest technology and store design” across its fuel pumps, checkout counters and overall layout. Weigel’s did not disclose any specific technologies it’s using.
Powell, Tennessee-based Weigel’s has been family owned and operated since it was founded in 1931.
