7-Eleven Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer Donna Bucella retired from the convenience retailer on June 30, Bucella confirmed in a message to C-Store Dive. Her retirement marks the latest executive departure at 7-Eleven as the convenience retailer continues to overhaul its leadership team during a turbulent year.
Bucella joined 7-Eleven in 2018. Her responsibilities as chief compliance officer included strengthening policies and ensuring regulatory compliance across areas such as age-restricted product sales, data privacy and supply chain due diligence. She also expanded the company's anti-money-laundering program and led its government affairs efforts, according to her LinkedIn profile.
A spokesperson from 7-Eleven did not respond by press time to provide additional comment on Bucella’s exit.
Before joining 7-Eleven, Bucella served as U.S. attorney for the Middle District of Florida and held senior leadership positions at the Departments of Justice, Homeland Security and Defense. She also was the founding director of the FBI's Terrorist Screening Center, now known as the Threat Screening Center.
Bucella is the latest senior executive to leave 7-Eleven this year as the company reshapes its leadership ahead of a planned IPO in 2027. Other recent departures have included former Chief Marketing Officer Marissa Jarratt, Chief Merchandising Officer Jesus Delgado-Jenkins and Senior Vice President of Corporate Operations Tony Harris.
