Dive Insight:
Adding delivery is designed to help Chestnut reach more customers and give loyal customers a new way to engage. Partnerships with companies like Lula allow them to outsource some of the operations, helping keep the delivery arm from being burdensome to workers.
Lula manages digital operations from end to end, including menu setup and accuracy checks, inventory synching and order management. It will also provide analytics to help Chestnut optimize its digital performance.
"Our customers rely on us for quality, convenience, and consistency every day,” said Abigail Cerra, director of marketing, loyalty and communications at Chestnut Market. “Expanding into delivery allows us to meet them where they are and makes it even easier to access our brand.”
The update comes a few weeks after Chestnut confirmed that it had parted ways with its CEO after three months. Ryan Oettinger joined Chestnut in January, and was expected to focus on growing the company’s roughly 80 c-store footprint across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
