Clipper Petroleum, which operates more than 25 convenience stores in the Southeast, has named Craig Peters as its new chief financial officer, Peters confirmed on Wednesday.
Peters noted that he is transitioning to Clipper this week and officially starting the new position next week. He said that as CFO, he will lead the shared services support to Clipper’s group of businesses, which includes retail; wholesale; the Explorer’s Transport fuel hauling segment; True North Energy Solutions, a c-store turnkey program; and the company’s D-Jay Energy arm.
Peters also said he’ll oversee Clipper’s financial planning, analysis and control, accounting, tax, treasury and credit.
Peters brings nearly two decades of leadership experience in the c-store and oil and gas industries to Clipper. He was a corporate controller for Tesoro Corporation — formerly known as Andeavor and Western Refining — for over nine years between the mid 2000s and 2010s, according to his LinkedIn bio.
Other notable industry roles Peters has held include corporate controller with Mountain Express Oil — which terminated operations amid Chapter 7 bankruptcy last year — as well as vice president and corporate controller with Delek US Holdings.
At Clipper, Peters is joining a chief executive team that includes President and CEO Tom Bower, Chief Strategy Officer Caroline Filchak, Chief Marketing Officer Haley Bower and Chief Operating Officer Ed Hong.
