Dive Brief:
- Users of Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores’ fleet card can now integrate that data into fleet management company Fleevo’s artificial-intelligence powered platform, the tech provider announced in a LinkedIn post on Wednesday.
- Fleevo’s AI-powered fleet operations platform takes data from customers’ accounts and gives fleet managers insight into their drivers’ spending across multiple payment methods, including the Love’s card, according to Victor Gonzalez, Fleevo’s CEO and co-founder.
- C-stores and travel centers have been expanding the breadth of fleet cards they accept for the past few years, and this integration underscores the growing role of AI in fleet management systems.
Dive Insight:
Through this integration, Fleevo’s customers can integrate data from Love’s cards into their payment system and get a clear picture of how much their drivers are spending on diesel, DEF, tolls, repairs and more. The platform also makes it easier for companies to spot fraud and other payment anomalies, since it brings together data from a variety of payment sources.
Gonzalez said that Fleevo does not have a partnership with Love’s, and that customers provide their fleet card data to the tech company, which correlates that information along with other vehicle data as part of its fleet performance tool.
“Fleevo now connects Love's directly alongside your other fuel sources and telematics data,” the company said in its LinkedIn post. “Every transaction is cross-referenced with your vehicle's tracking data to flag any misuse and fraud automatically.”
Besides this Love’s integration, other travel center chains have added cardless payments programs, including TravelCenters of America and Alimentation Couche-Tard signing on with Relay Payments and Maverik partnering with Piston.
Editor’s note: This article was updated to correct the nature of the fleet card integration. The companies do not have a direct partnership, and users provide Fleevo with their fleet card data.
