Dive Brief:
- LV Petroleum is targeting 140 locations by the end of 2027, Monica Androsko, the travel center chain’s vice president of brand, mobility and risk, said during a panel discussion on day one of this week’s NACS Show.
- The retailer, which primarily operates TravelCenters of America truck stops, currently has 106 sites and aims to reach 110 by the end of this year, Androsko said. LV has made headlines in 2026 with its multi-site acquisitions and the expansion of its QSR business.
- If it hits 140 sites by the end of 2027, LV will have grown its network by over 30% in just over a year — an uncommonly large jump for a midsize convenience retailer.
Dive Insight:
LV has been operating for more than a decade but didn’t begin its current growth push until after the COVID-19 pandemic, Androsko said. The retailer has been particularly active on the M&A front this year, acquiring multiple TA travel centers across the U.S.. In September, LV acquired four TA locations — three in Texas and one in Oklahoma.
On Oct. 5, LV said it had over 90 locations. Reaching 110 locations by the end of 2026 would extend that momentum, while the goal to reach 140 sites by the end of next year would be a significant expansion from its current footprint.
LV’s growth plan stands out for a retailer of its size. If the company continues expanding at its current trajectory, it could become one of the fastest-growing small or midsize convenience operators in the country.
Even the education session’s host, Amy Toner, chief of staff of the National Association of Truck Stop Owners, called out the speed of the company’s expansion. Androsko responded that the Trump administration’s One Big, Beautiful Bill “has had some nice write-offs, so we’re trying to take advantage of those.”
“We're pushing as many [sites] as we can before the end of the year,” Androsko added.
LV has also added several new leaders as it accelerates its growth. The retailer appointed a new CEO in April, followed by hiring Androsko and a new chief talent officer in May. Earlier this month, LV named Jonathan Pertchik, former CEO of TA, chairman of its board of directors. Peter Crage, TA’s former chief financial officer, joined the board at the same time.
