NACS has hired Paul Ziv as its first vice president of technology, the convenience store association announced on Monday.
Ziv is joining NACS from the association’s digital age-verification nonprofit TruAge. He now leads technology strategy, enterprise modernization and the development of emerging digital capabilities across NACS and its affiliated organizations, including TruAge, according to the announcement.
“NACS has a huge focus on accelerating innovation and guiding priorities to help unlock new sources of value across the global convenience and fuel retailing industry, and we are thrilled to bring on Paul to help us build our internal and external capabilities to take us there,” said NACS President and CEO Frank Gleeson in the announcement.
At TruAge, Ziv was VP of emerging technology and operations, where he led the tech roadmap and execution of its age-verification platform for consumers, retailers and industry partners, per the announcement. Prior to that, he was VP of information technology for contact-center services company AnswerNet, overseeing a 100-person team that drove software development and innovation, programming, infrastructure, quality assurance and business process outsourcing.

Ziv has also served in multiple leadership roles at nonprofit March of Dimes, including as vice president and associate chief operating officer, and worked as a senior network administrator at RaceTrac, according to the announcement.
The new role underscores a broader push by NACS to strengthen its technology capabilities as digital tools become increasingly central to how c-store retailers navigate evolving industry challenges. Retailers are experimenting with numerous approaches, from using AI-enabled point-of-sale services to machine learning platforms for inventory management.
