Ruiz Food Products has appointed Mark Griffith as senior vice president for its foodservice business unit, the frozen Mexican food manufacturer announced on Monday.
In this role, Griffith will guide the strategic direction of Ruiz’s foodservice portfolio by developing sales and marketing strategies, managing profit and loss accountability and driving cross-functional execution across sales, marketing, supply chain and research and development, according to the announcement. He is filling a vacant role, a company spokesperson said via email.
“[Griffith] is a proven leader with an exceptional track record,” said Kimberli Carroll, president and CEO of Ruiz Foods, in the announcement. “His deep strategic expertise and cross-functional leadership make him the ideal person to help guide our Foodservice Business Unit forward.”
Griffith joins Ruiz Foods from nicotine products maker Philip Morris International U.S., where he spent the last four years in business development, according to his LinkedIn bio. In that role, he led strategic sales, marketing and corporate partnerships across chain and wholesale channels, according to Ruiz Foods’ announcement.
Prior to PMI, Griffith spent one and a half years as a sales director for cannabis company Cronos Group and more than 12 years in a variety of roles with tobacco manufacturer Altria, according to his LinkedIn bio.
Griffith now brings that consumer goods experience to Ruiz, which manufactures popular frozen food brands commonly sold in c-stores, like El Monterey and Tornados.
"I am excited for this new chapter leading the Foodservice Business Unit,” said Griffith. “We have a strong team, and I look forward to collaborating with them to deliver exceptional value to our c-store and wholesale partners."
