Dive Insight:
The expanded supplier partnership centers on foodservice innovation and fresh food offerings, according to the announcement. Core-Mark’s distribution model allows ExtraMile to benefit from what the supplier calls its “one-truck” delivery solution, offering both convenience store and foodservice products through one supply chain.
For ExtraMile — co-owned by Chevron and Jacksons Food Stores — a bigger focus on foodservice could strengthen its position in a key category as operators look for ways to drive traffic and keep customers on site for longer.
“Based on our previous agreement with Core-Mark, we are confident that the Core-Mark team will be an excellent strategic partner for ExtraMile, and we look forward to working together to achieve our mutual goals of profitable growth, efficient operations, and exceptional service for our stores and our customers,” said Brian Sardelich, president of ExtraMile Convenience Stores, said in the announcement.
The expanded partnership comes as ExtraMile pursues its ambitious growth strategy. The retailer now operates in 12 states and is expected to enter Texas in 2027 as it looks to reach around 1,500 total locations by 2029.
“Core-Mark is thrilled to expand our relationship with ExtraMile Convenience Stores and support their continued growth across these unique and dynamic markets,” Bill Stein, executive vice president of enterprise growth for Core-Mark, said in the announcement.
Core-Mark offers products, marketing programs and technology solutions to about 50,000 locations in the U.S. and Canada through 45 distribution centers.
