Convenience retail general merchandise supplier Lil’ Drug Store Products has acquired the health, beauty and wellness business of consumer products company Navajo Inc., according to a Thursday announcement.
The deal, which went into effect on Sept. 4 and includes Navajo’s trial and travel business, expands LDSP’s assortment of health and beauty care items, which are distributed to more than 100,000 convenience stores and gas stations across the U.S., according to the company’s website.
The acquisition of Navajo’s health and wellness segment expands LDSP’s reach into grocery and drug stores, according to the announcement. Navajo will continue to own and operate its eyewear, mobile electronics and general merchandise businesses, according to the announcement.
"This acquisition extends our strategy to provide consumer health and personal care suppliers with a more comprehensive retail solution," said Chris DeWolf, president and CEO of LDSP. "Navajo's strength in grocery and drug complements our leadership in convenience and travel, expanding our brand partners' ability to reach consumers wherever they shop."
Based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, LDSP provides category management, distribution and brand partnership services across health and beauty, automotive, cellular accessories, sunglasses and other general merchandise categories. The company serves more than 180,000 retail locations across convenience, travel, hospitality and alternative retail channels.
