- Sheetz has promoted Stephanie Doliveira from vice president of human resources to executive vice president of people and culture, according to an emailed press release on Tuesday.
- Doliveira has been with Sheetz for nearly 22 years, starting out as the manager of human resources for CLI Transportation, a subsidiary of the company, in March 2001, according to her LinkedIn profile.
- As EVP of People and Culture, Doliveira is in charge of planning and implementing employee-related initiatives across the company’s 24,000-person workforce, including “succession planning, talent management, benefits and compensation, employee relations and more.”
With employee retention challenges continuing to loom over the convenience store industry, Sheetz joins companies like Pilot in focusing on experienced executives tasked with creating a more supportive company culture for workers.
In her previous position, Doliveira spearheaded major investments in leadership development and employee benefits and recognition. She was also heavily involved in supporting the workforce through the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. Before becoming VP of human resources, she served as a manager of employee communications and co-leader of the brand department during her tenure with the company.
“For the last 70 years, our organization’s success has been driven directly by our people,” said Travis Sheetz, President & CEO of Sheetz. “Stephanie has helped us to create a workplace where employees feel valued and appreciated. As a leader, she has been instrumental in keeping the entire human resources team focused on fostering a culture that truly makes Sheetz a great place to work. Her contributions have made an impact on every single Sheetz employee.”
While Doliveira was VP of human resources, the company accumulated several honors related to the quality of its workplace, including a place on the 100 Best Company to Work For list by Great Places to Work and Fortune in eight of the last nine years, inclusion on the "Companies that Care" list by Great Place to Work and People Magazine twice in the last three years and earning the third place on 2022’s Best Workplaces in Retail list by Fortune.
Sheetz, which was founded in 1952, has grown to more than 670 locations in six states – Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio and Maryland.
