Dive Insight:
Toot’n Totum revamped its loyalty platform to move away from managing multiple technology providers, which had created operational complexity, higher resource requirements and multiple system integrations, according to the announcement.
The retailer’s new app has end-to-end capabilities that let the retailer streamline its operations, according to the announcement. It integrates with Toot’n Totum’s point-of-sale vendor, which brings app functionality, tobacco loyalty and scan data reporting into one ecosystem.
“[Liquid Barcodes’] one-stop-shop loyalty and subscription platform gave us everything we needed to build a program that rewards our guests in ways that actually matter to them,” John Lutz, vice president of fuels and marketing at Toot'n Totum, said in the announcement.
App users can also access Toot’n Totum’s order ahead and delivery system, which the convenience retailer already had in place through its FetchUm service, powered by Vroom Delivery. Unlike the app’s other features, this capability is available only at participating Toot’n Totum locations.
The app will also soon add pump activation capabilities, allowing guests to turn fuel pumps on directly from the app and receive an additional 5-cent-per-gallon discount.
