The global c-store industry said goodbye to a major former leader last month. Toshifumi Suzuki, who helped bring 7-Eleven to Japan and served as Seven & i Holding’s first CEO, died on May 18 of heart failure. He was 93 years old.
“He set new standards in retail distribution and made convenience stores part of the national infrastructure,” the company said in a LinkedIn post about his passing.
In the U.S. c-store space, two CEOs stepped down, 7-Eleven lost three more executives and Cumberland Farms hired a new chief information officer.
